GREAT FALLS MODEL RAILROAD CLUB
TRAIN FEST, AUGUST 20, 2011
The following photos were taken at The Great Falls Model Railroad Club, 144 Mill Street, Auburn. This first Train Fest was held during Lewiston-Auburn's Great Falls Balloon Festival.
Visitors were greeted by Mike Reed and his rail car (also called a speeder or "putt putt"). Here Mike Reed and Jerry Johnston relax in the rail car. After receiving Operation Lifesaver conductor's hats, children printed their names on small trains and tacked them to the large locomotive. Governor's Restaurant donated balloons, whoopie pies, and special coupons.>"Train Time" videos were shown throughout the day. Angela Acone offered face painting. Her daughters Abigail and Gracie were beautiful examples of her art work as they concentrated on the Thomas the Tank Engine layout in the G-Gauge room. Special features on the main section of the G-Gauge layout included a sign board for Governor's Restaurant, an original Great Falls Model Railroad Club boxcar, and a hot air balloon in tribute to the Balloon Festival.

The children's play area is always a favorite location. By the end of the day, the nearby locomotive was nearly full of name trains.
