By August 6, polyurethane had been applied to the floor and the group began to assemble the benchwork.

Yard sale items covered the benchwork on August 21. By September 3, the footprint for the Thomas layout was in place.

On September 4, the benchwork had begun for the Thomas layout and Paul Lodge started painting the backdrop.
